Opposite and Equivalent

It's been one month, and the International Populist clownshow of distraction, chaos and Austerity has begun.  The Trump Administration is unwittingly giving us the playbook by way of the Narcissist's reflection.  Just listen to the news, and imagine the opposite.  Then imagine how do we undo the damage?  Oppose with Equivalency. (Someone is keeping close score!)

So, other than reminding everyone that the Executive can't rescind Federal law by Executive Orders, here's my first list at what any reasonable opposition should more or less take up as the natural opposite platform: I have ideated from years of observing failed trickle-down Neoliberalism, now it's Oligarchic polity, but am sure to have left things out; included a summary of slogans I have observed per ideal group; the equivalent counter-actions inspired by the current Administration; and what we can ask from the Democrats, when they take 2/3rds of the Congress to become a Veto proof majority- as 1/3 of citizens didn't vote, and ~30% of Gen Z is regretting having voted Republican -even as they limp along as the barely minority party, now- after one would imagine the pendulum swings. This might instead be the modern Bull-Moose party platform, for instance.

"America into the Future:"

"Reform the electoral college," so each State must send a representational proportion of Electors to that of the popular vote, make all States send an odd number of electors with the winner thus having at least one Elector more than the loser per State in many cases, and in most circumstances the popular candidate wins the national election. 

Make total number of national electors odd. If there is somehow a national elector tie, then National popular vote winner is the winner, Speaker of the House has no direct say.  This requires a change in the Constitution.

"ESG is good Business for a Sustainable Future," re-Implement DEI programs, reinstate LGBTQIA+ inclusion initiatives (convene a scientific Blue Ribbon Panel to resolve the process for allowing the 0.004% of sex-indeterminate [and other identities] individuals to compete in sports openly), set international standardization for logical transparent rating and measuring of Environmental, Social and Governance in the marketplace; expand the SBA increasing speed and ease of SBA loan process and approvals; and Department of Commerce helps implement all the commercial reforms.

"Hire more public servants," Increase the bureaucracy 10% above 2024 levels to improve service; only nominate qualified public servants based upon highest and best merit for every government position- top to bottom; root out fraud, waste and abuse; eliminate any new agencies formed by Republicans that disagree with policy platform; and reform the other agencies in a countermandate 'on day one.' Thank goodness no more DeJoy, so reform the Post Office he tried to set up for privatization. Hire back Inspectors General; hire additional inspectors, staff and managers for instance expand (restart?) the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Forest Service, OSHA, FEMA, et. al. and fire the old "loyalty pledge" ones; and Fund, expand and hire to 101% the employees of the FAA to enable them to prepare to expand the mission to Near Space Control. Raise military and civil servant pay by 5% a year for three years; and Increase public servant (including military) signing bonuses to enhance recruitment efforts.

"Rejoin all International Treaty Obligations," whatever is broken, like the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty, WHO, United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, Paris Treaty, USAID commitments, etc.- Impose sanctions on legitimate enemies of The Republic. Start new diplomatic bridge building treaties towards an International Peace treaty.

"Join The International Court of Justice," turn over war criminals under special arrangements, and set up an agency tasked with leading US Interpol and ICC interests, separate from the FBI, et. al.  Shuffle, streamline, expand where needed and improve the DOD, State, Treasury, FBI, CIA, and DHS for budget savings of ~10%, optimization and maximum counterintelligence strategy against our enemies foreign and domestic.

"Pathways to Citizenship," Bring Immigration into the light by making clear and understandable pathways to naturalization and citizenship, and provide amnesty for undocumented taxpayers who have no criminal records that have paid for seven years or more on the same ITN.  Affirm the 14th Amendment and birthright citizenship. Halt deportations without due process, and restart the Amnesty remote application process.  All immigration hearings must occur within 30-days, including backlog, thus fund and hire accordingly.

"Destroy the Republican built concentration camps."  Have a legal national immigration rate of 14%, build 10,000,000 housing units in four years; enhance federal support for municipal services for immigrants and international and domestic refugees; end private and cruel/unusual prisons, and force all prisons to be safe, healthy and habitable; eliminate homelessness; and make "housing as a human right."

Set up an Infrastructure Bank to fund both domestic and foreign projects, compete with China's Belt and Road Initiatives, and make Environmental, human rights, health and safety tied to favorable loan packages (ideally to countries where migrants come from to reduce economic migrants).  Do this by imitating UK and setting up a Sovereign Wealth Fund.  "International Infrastructure Initiatives" (III)

Harder to say and less catchy than "Drill, baby, drill," but: 'Restrict drilling permits to existing leasing areas, require all wells to be precisely mapped (this is Colorado's) into a public database, including ownership, and all leaking wells must be remediated by owners/operators.'  Restart funding for The Green New Deal, Fund the EPA with fines from gross, flagrant and obvious violators, and "Clear the Air."

"Acknowledge Climate Change," and overfund FEMA, NOAA, NSF, NIH, the Cancer Moonshot, CDC, the sciences et. al.  Expand the EPA to define Methane and CO2 as regulatable substances after basic biological emissions are accounted for.  Further, fund Climate Change mitigation and the EPA with formulation of Carbon tax, Methane tax, and a Toxicity taxes on all manufacturers including of electricity based upon a nationally agreed OMB published standard Benefit-Cost Analysis calculating the implied costs to land values, society and environment.  Use some of the toxicity tax proceeds to mitigate and remediate the millions of wells, tens of thousands of abandoned mines, and thousands of clean-up sites in the US. Plan and Fund workforce accordingly, set a goal of 50% fewer clean-up sites in five years, and end all gross tortfeasership.

"Factual Labeling," Require the highest FDA standards for labeling laws for domestic and imports in the World; proper labeling in lieu of tariffs, major ingredients and nutrition values are labelled en real, however all ingredients must be disclosed via QR code on packaging, etc.; every ingredient must be on file sourced and defined; if chemicals then full names, all secondary chemicals must also be indicated; & nutritional values must be expanded, articulated and standardized.  Expand the USDA inspection system verifying label information. Start a National Underwriters Laboratory for Consumer Products -from cleaning, to auto, to fruit pesticides, to frozen dinners- to ensure all the chemicals and foodstuffs on the marketplaces can be safely enjoyed, used, and combined (purposefully or accidentally) in good health. Join the metric system.

Lower requirements for WIC and SNAP, reform the Department of Agriculture to 1. establish National Organic and Sustainable standards for International Designation, 2. begin subsidizing small- and mid-scale Organic, Tilth and Sustainable Agriculture and Horticulture, in lieu of mono-crop mega-farming, and 3. Assist in low interest loans to increase family-owned and operated Organic and Sustainable farms by 500,000 in four years.  "Lower grocery prices with fresh local supply!"

In international business and trade, the USA argument in favor of free health care is that our competitors have an unfair advantage in that their businesses are subsidized by the Government, and ours are not. Install single-payor insurance for Universal Health Care; Fund CHP, IHS, Community Health Centers, et al. until UHC takes over all programs; Universal School Lunch, locally sourced; in other words make "Clean Air, Clean Water, Good Food and Health Care as a human right."

Restore the 1991 Ukrainian border, and demand Russia cease and desist through ICJ cooperation, and settle with the Russian regime in exchange for the 1. reestablishing peace, 2. offers for financial assistance, 3. lifting of freezes, 4. ending sanctions, and 5. reducing tariffs. Support the 'two-state solution' in Israel, organize International Peace conferences, and cooperate with UK, EU, and all allies to work cooperatively with all parties to restore Palestinian Gaza.  Start by ending trade wars by negotiating the end of most tariffs.  Offer military truce during negotiations.  "Negotiate International Peace!"

"General Free Trade," lift most all tariffs and some sanctions, all imports and exports must label source (with the same QR code on file process as described above for foodstuff, and drugs) components or materials to enforce sanctions effectively, with targeted limited tariffs and sanctions reserved for egregious violators of Human Rights and violations of Peace Treaties. Fully Legalize cannabis to enable proper taxation, regulation and interstate commerce.

"Workers Rights," to Unionize, for Paternity Leave, Raise the National Minimum Wage to $17/hr. Add 15% raise for Social Security and disability recipients immediately, and ease disability and unemployment qualification requirements. Establish a sub-Department to oversee Senior, Disabled and Retiree benefits.

Split VA into two: First integrate some duties back into the military bureaucracy, then open a Department of Peace to oversee all peace efforts, but also to oversee benefits to anyone who can claim privation from the USA, US Military or Department of Defense and the endless missions to settle them until the USA has no claimants or legitimate claims against her; grant relief payments to dishonorably discharged military service persons under specific liberal circumstances; and raise military benefits by 15% over two or three years. Second, Harmonize the VA Health system as specialists for Military, active duty and retired, with the Universal Health Care system.

"Direct Democracy," Create a Cabinet level department 'of Technology' to streamline government using technology, manage and regulate technology including Cyber security, Social Media, VPNs, AI, etc., and operate a transparent modern public central national computer database system designed to allow each citizen: 1. to "vote" in informal Direct Democracy on any topic and such information is sent to their appropriate representatives as information, 2. file claims, make freedom of information requests, or complaints, 3. send ideas or requests, 4. Get official information, register to vote and file taxes electronically, and 5. to view their own official and private "file," and request any true corrections.

Reinstate pre-1980 Broadcast Standards for any organization to be credentialed national press, and considered legally advertised 'national news;' as part of "campaign finance reform," reinstate 'fair time' requirements for broadcasters requiring all National political parties that poll above 3% to have fair air time on any national news station licensed by the FCC; Ban Nazism, espousing outright fascism, symbols, salutes, etc. and issue standards for prosecution of such crimes, but also how to parody, portray dramatically, and describe NAZI and neo-Nazi activities in a timely manner; expand Government Departmental and Inter-departmental Social Media use for external communications, and regulate Artificial Intelligence, Large Social Media Conglomerates, Monopolies and Industry Price Manipulations. Overfund Public Broadcasting, National Endowment for the Arts, International State Sponsored media, et. al., and offer free social media and computer literacy training for all.

As per the 2nd, "Regulate" with National Guns License; end weapons of war being treated as "regulatable arms," exempted from the Individual Rights granted under the 2nd Amendment; because Weapons of Warfare, available for use against the State, it's Ministers, including Peace Officers, are for use by the State alone in Common Defense, not for private unregulated militia, or individuals, regulated or unregulated. The founders whether 1776 or 1865 did not intend ships cannons to be used by individuals in domestic fence line disputes gone awry requiring some legal form of civil self defense.

Run an Administration that doesn't lie, but operates an excellent CIA. Grants privacy, but protects and serves wherever the facts go for the FBI. Makes naturalization, security and internal coordination easier, comprehensive and considerate with a reformed DHS. Operates a well- trained, paid and staffed, humane Immigration and Customs Enforcement, including opening up Custom Houses at all ports of entry, where, amongst other enhanced diplomatic functions, claims of entry may be formally made in a timely manner, in person.

"End Citizens United," by Congress making it necessary under the 14th Amendment to have dna in order to be considered a person, hence citizen, and therefore invalidate the finding that Corporations are citizens with free speech right of unlimited undisclosed campaign contributions.  Then if money equals free speech, and I as an individual have unlimited free speech, therefore the corporations owe me infinity money in compensation? 

Rather, totally new game, "Campaign Finance Reform:" limit all annual campaign contributions to a maximum of $20,000, no tax deductions, to any number of candidates (municipal, local, state, and federal) by any one citizen-taxpayer (you must file taxes individually or jointly [no corporate entities {end all tax free 501 status} may contribute]. Payee-Dependents must make contributions in the name of their Taxpayor-Dependencies that counts towards maximum contribution limit of the taxpayer[s] in order to donate politically) per year; therefore only US American Citizens can donate with taxpayer ID; donations pledges may be garnered at any time by Politician; but may only receive funds during the 180-day annual election Season, which ends four days before Election Day, which ends for all Federal elections as a National Holiday on the fifth day (official start of campaign 185 days prior and this first 180-day funding period should be the only time politicians can accept direct contributions) before "Voting Day;" and all political donations must be transparent and publicly available in a timely record by the 182nd day, with corrections published by the 184th day for full disclosure of all donors, per candidate, for final day to vote the 185th day.  Also all the other voter access bills in the works.

Enact the ERA, enshrine reproductive liberties, and confirm, uphold and declare all sexes, gender identities and consensual unions are equal under law, amending the 14th Amendment. "Reinstate 'Roe.'"

"Supreme Court Reforms," Appoint four new Supreme Court judges, assigning one to each Circuit, with Chief Justice left in charge of The Supreme Court and the Federal Circuit.  Install a fifteen year Term limit for Chiefs, eighteen for Justices, and the Chief must be hired only from within the existing remaining Justices timely.  Impose the same Federal Ethics for Supreme Justices as all other Federal Justices, impeach accordingly. 13 Ethical Term-limited Supreme Court Justices with clear lines for impeachment from either the Executive or the Legislative goes some way to restore the balance of the triumvirate of powers.

'Streamline the Pentagon,' "A Smart Nation is an Intelligent One!"  Addition to above Counterintelligence Optimization (reduced waste, fraud and abuse), also Transfer 2% of the National Spending from remainder of Defense budget to (Rebuild and) Overfund Department of Education, pay off everyone's student loan debt as a single settler.  Low and no-cost "GI Bill for All!" University or College, reform endowment tax treatment as below, harmonize and set reasonably agreed to National Academic Standards, including accurate multi-cultural, diverse and robust explorations of the agreed (*eliminate arbitrary and capricious or counterevidential challenges by sub-par scholastics who composed gems, like, 'Slaves enjoyed learning valuable skills in exchange for their work,' as counter-argumentative fact, or those who ban books not supporting cis gender straight characters in normative situations) facts from history and how they fit into our Civics, like the 14th Amendment. Make a teacher's National Minimum Wage Scale that is portable Nationally, and includes the calculation for honorable time served in the public system. Implement 'First Five' Universal pre-K recommendations, have permission slip based book check out from public libraries for minors in lieu of banning legitimate* books, and overfund libraries.

Overfund all these government proposals primarily with a "Progressive Set-tax:" yearly, all NET Income received from earnings, trades, and dividends, foreign and domestic, accumulating ingress to any taxpaying entity (Individual, Business, or Non-profit, including Religious) between: $0-25k 0%; 25-150k 5%; 150-450k 10%; 450-1mm 15%; 1-5mm 20%; 5-25mm 21%; 25-100mm 25%; 100-499 mm 28%; and everything earned annually above $500,000,000 is 30%... no loopholes, no tax breaks, and most every taxpayer has a Calendar year filing (Fiscal year filings, deductions for expenses, and extraordinary activities require forms. Natural and obvious deductions from gross profit, like a business paying a worker salary, and other Costs of Goods Sold, still remain, but are are handled through streamlined forms and checked and expedited via national computer records). 

These are net tax rates per bundle/traunch set (so an effective gross rate for taxpayer who accumulated earning $500,000 p.a. it would be 8.75% in paid taxation, a tax reduction for most) approved for ten years by 2/3 majority of both chambers of Congress to be adjusted only for inflation in years 3 and 7. This effectively lowers taxes for about 85% of the Nation; makes about 65% of tax returns a simple signature affidavit verifying all automatically reported income- no more than signing a postcard sent by the IRS in February- closing loopholes means most other forms simplify or disappear; slows the velocity of the public markets to be value biased, but ensures conservation of value, long term vision and fair pay from the very wealthy. 'Everyone plays by the same knowable set of fair rules!'

"Fiscal Conservation after Appropriate Taxation."  With all the toxicity and emissions taxes, closed loopholes, excess growth, economic expansion, savings from optimization, including savings from single buyer-payor reforms, we can end the budget deficits, pay off debts, never have to raise the debt ceiling again, and build, manufacture and export our way out of Trade imbalance via free trade, and fund the entire wish list above! 

Progressivism, for lack of a better term, is a peaceful vision of an economy growing itself out of the problems, advancing technologically, and improving quality of life, general happiness, and justice for everyone around in an environmentally recovering, restored, and habitable World.

Any vision with appropriate regulations (you need clear comprehensive regulations to ensure a "free-market," counter-intuitively) grows the needs-based economy accurately into a 'wants-based' abundance, fills the coffers, and makes us more competitive.  The Free Market is a social exercise, it rewards our International Allies. 'You can't have a Free Market without good cooperation and regulation!'

Conclusion. I think this Agenda transcends cultures, generations and even political affiliation, when viewed as a complete recipe for a robust progressive economic expansion: enabling the younger generations an opportunity to thrive; taking care of the elderly, disabled and inveterate; reinstatement of historical norms and precedents; and the ideal for a Government 'of the People, by the People, and for the People' that takes good care of ALL it's people from cradle to cradle. 

Socially Liberal; Fiscally Conservative; Environmental... Yes!

Whatever you label me, I have here the reflection from the pool of Narcissus, a platform ready for the opposition, whoever they might become, that is the stuff of MAGA Republican nightmares!

1776? More like 1812 & you were the British

Love to modern Great Britain, Happy Jubilee (awkward), but in the 19th century back when the Sun Never Set they had landed in the newly founded Capitol and burned many of the works including the building defiled a year ago by insane, confused and seditious persons, to the ground.

With all due respect let's review 1776:

1.  No Representation no taxation may be an argument for regressive VAT, but it's No Taxation without Representation reminding us we were a subject colony with subservient order.

2.  Powers of the many States.  The many divergent interests couldn't agree on the definition of a human at the dawn of Science, yet they coalesced against greater tyranny.  Thus began a bold experiment transcendental of past singular State Independent Republics, such as 16th century Holland, because as declared was aligned with a greater cause, where many States we're considering outright independence, they chose instead, to attempt something never tried in human recorded history.

3.  United we stand divided we fall.  Since ancient China good leaders have known that great power of Unity, and we are often only as strong as the weakest link.  Although we have been given dominion over the planet, we are simultaneously a fragile biological creature, like any other that can also go extinct. 

International Interdependence is the key Technology of Government and philosophy that appears to have been discovered from the Seven Years War, a virtual World War of colonial powers- it also presented the opening for a century and a half of colonial rebellion, and independence of former colonies organizing as singular in the Age of Stateism.

4.  We are in perpetual formation, and so to be inclusive of what through reason, dignity and jurisprudence has since become the transitive right of all humankind in philosophy to reasonably unite in Congress to not just be nominally represented, to have these rights defended in common, but also in order to pursue Life, Liberty, and reasonable happiness that doesn't infringe upon any others same bundle of rights as citizens.  E pluribus unum.

5.  Division of powers.  King John may have signed and sealed the Magna Carta, but it acted as more of a promissory note in exchange for the tens of thousands more people whom the Dukes would be needing to regularly supply the King's endless Feudal warfare, back in those dismal days when it was much harder to raise a human, and we were much fewer.  

There were scores of repromises, compromises, and variations over the century following, but ultimately The Magna Carta writ bold was coveted as proof of some notion of independence from despots.  The articulation of all aspects of modern society post dark Age Europe could be said to have emerged from this fourteenth century experiment.

Once Washington reasonably agreed to lead, the idea of King of America was doomed, and in their best wisdom they divided the labors of State: Executive, Legislative, and Judiciary to replace the King, Parliament, and Courts.

6.  No King's, Queens or Imperators!  The Agricultural realists that made this land knew life was an endurance of seasons.  A central figure is inefficient as an organizing principal in matters of progress, science and ethical administration.  Every two, four and six years the boldest, best and brightest should go to trade on behalf of their constituenties in good faith and conscience, regardless of political career (and leave eventually).

7.  Please, add to the list of rights responsibly, it's a work in progress.  The rights and responsibilities in our Bill of Rights are for everyone everywhere on US soil all the time, and when all of the above are disfunctioning, then please change... Including revise or remove, if needed.  

Conclusions: All human beings may be born of different station, place, rank, class, or situation, yet we are equally entitled to all rights such as the freedom of Religion, but also the freedom from any imposition of Religion, for example.  

The Declaration of Independence, Constitution and Bill of Rights are of course imperfect documents written by human beings.  Washington stepped down from ostensible Kingship (contemporaneously other than maybe France, our allies, trading partners and opponents could only imagine him as Regent) he warned against imitating Sister Britain with the formation of parties, implying that although each Representative, Executive and Judge, also human, may be imperfect, All must make their choices and answer for them accountably to that constituency of voters, and their Maker.

The method to Washington's leadership was accompanied by humility, self awareness and the dignity and nobility of humanity like Cincinnatus two millenea before him to prefer freedom over power.

Our Civil War four score and seven after was further, unfortunately violent, correction of this power dynamic, but it can be linked to a nexus of biblical levels of iniquitous human chattelry, massive unjust territorial expansions causing disproportionate representation from an inconvenient distance and historical onerous circumstances, and international competition from foreign interests.

We have deescalated such power misalignments through negotiations, dialogue and compromise for a century and a half of something we call bipartisanship, and there is no reason for The United States of America to regress to past misalignments, unneeded partisanship, or violence.

People sacrificed in 1776 in order to plant the tree of Liberty for the future to enjoy- a considered answer to the long-term problems of humanity.

One year ago was an internal invasion of people, domestic terrorism, by mostly citizens, who by operation of law are now having lawful abridgement of those same rights granted to thus be responsible to pay penalty, fines and serve time for their crimes, as the largest, freest, most watched, most monitored lawful election in human history was certified.

We have but one Republic, and as Franklin said "if you can keep it!"

Job's, Jobs, jobs

The Book of Job in the Bible famously demonstrates the bet between Satan and God as to whether a true devotee can be made to foreswear the Lord.

 

Of course, after brutal trials, Job, eventually, liberated from false attachments finally receives the full blessing from Life having turned away from Temptations.

 

Sad, that the eponymous word for Livelihood, is slang for Faustian Test.  So, every day in employment is a challenge from Hell, under that thinking?

 

Too bad.

 

 

We need to rethink entirely the nature of Livelihood.  What is your pre-occupation, your occupation and animus where you are of highest and best use to Society, with the least cost to your health, wealth and soul.

 

Many people facing this Pandemic Crisis in the economy, like me, are reassessing what arethe actual Jobs and Job descriptions of the future going to become?

 

That said, before we earnestly discuss the Green New Deal, or any other Major Effort, let’s re-enshrine the Bill of Rights with a little history tour of how we come to the arrangement of being totally dependent upon a $14/hr. worker for distribution of goods and services that may have become so urgent, important and valuable, because of the exaggerated and impacted resource availability problems.

 

 

In 1215, The Lord descended from Heaven, signed a piece of paper with the Dukes and Barons of England, and admitted He was a human King.  Every squire, knave, groom and peasant within a Mile of Runnymede was promptly murdered for having witnessed the event.

 

From there, democracy in the modern American sense was born.  Flash cut to 250 years later, or there about, and we have the fundamental flaw in our Agrarian-style macro-economic theory.  A Serf is born, and he will be raised, live, then die as an attached beast of the land.  Probably not leaving to the capital London if once, they remained within about a 20-mile radius from where they were born.

 

They were often classed into task groups, and seasonally or during crisis tasks would be completely reassigned... all with little to no say by the Serf.  They were beasts to be manipulated, resources to be controlled and conquered, and base value of the farmlands, as pheasants improve the value of the Royal Forests.

 

It is only in this 21^stCentury where people have been born in ignorant bliss of Freedom and Liberty, and now are surprised by the hard and cruel facts of geopolitical macroeconomics.

 

The contrasts in this era are probably as about as stark as they may have ever been, only because they have never been more observable, simultaneously and worldwide.

 

So, the replay of the signing of the Magna Carta would have been videoed, and upon further review a human who was dressed as King signed a piece of paper.

 

 

Myths are being destroyed every day, and life can be very grim.

 

So, in redesigning and repurposing your livelihood, consider that your good work for other, hopefully helps to build a better future, a nicer present and a more pleasant understanding of the hard choices that came from the past.

 

We will get past all of this, because we process the economy individually and collectively, daily.

 

But, next time you get some fast food, now that the fragilities, weaknesses and errors of our macroeconomy are on display, maybe consider leaning on the tip.  Tip a nurse or care worker; or bring them some flowers; or a soda.  We humans are all in this together!

 

Not random acts of kindness, rather design your livelihood for purposeful kindnesses that you like to make and are good at doing.

 

Then maybe your jobwill just be a fair bargain with other people, without need for tests from outside powers?

 

Vision: Steady, safe and sane livelihoods; Multiple training pathways, nimble enough for lateral transfer, and ideally all correlated; and each employee with long-term prospects and full benefits.

I.               From about 1965, we can observe the beginning of geometric population growth.  This indicates the beginning of “overpopulation,” or more accurately the asymmetry from increased births, greater longevity, and fewer preventable deaths from ancient norms.  This problem has begun to grow exponentially.

Crisis Nodes

II.             Although there are many other wars, conflicts, strifes to be considered, for our purposes of American History, and our nations birth in 1776, we observe six modern nodes of crisis:

c.     WWII

d.     Moon Landing

e.     End of the Soviet Empire

f.      Beginning of Modern Information-based (Internet) Democracy

Era Names

III.           After the Age of Reason: Ironically, we inhabited the great genocide of America, and endured the pestilence of human slavery.  The zugzwang of the International Age of Industry required our participation in social norms, but as a nation not healed from the bitter civil conflict.  Our modern American identity was forged by the great European war where the conception of nationhood and nationalism forced us to unite.  The fourth era is so named the Age of Economy because this was the practical application of all the great theories, and became the natural growth of nations to once again end this era in another great mechanized war.  After the hard and bitter lessons of grand mechanical warfare a more indirect, yet no less vicious, period of proxy warfare began, and the emblem of the two great Superpowers was that of Space.  After America ostensibly won that war of symbolism, then an age of covert and more indirect paroxysm began in earnest to complete the defeat of the Soviet Union entirely.  Leaving an age of one Superpower left with all the various agents who would attempt to interact with, transform or gain from her.  We have entered an age where the conception of power is being transformed, not just by the application of ideas, but the ideals and ideas being transmitted by these transformational devices we participate with regularly in this era.

Node Zero

IV.           In American History we begin in the first thirty years of Simultaneous Corinthian Rebirth (CR), a creative destruction for survival, and the a ten year Birth;

a.     1760 – Doric Construction of Revolution

b.     1770 – Ionic Construction of Revolution

c.     1780 – Corinthian Construction of Revolution

d.     1790 – Birth of the Stable State (where the act of Revolution has been harnessed in active creation-destruction process we call government)

Generational Nodes

V.             After the Reasonable Institutionalization of Revolution, began the formation of parties and other emblematic themes, which allowed for the construction and destruction of ideas of governance and administration of law through institutional process, however this does not dismiss the massive genocide being conducted until 1974 upon the lands of what was to become territory of these United States of America.  Following Jefferson and a Revolution every generation (30 years):

a.     Rebirth (Transformational Period [Ricorso])

b.     Doric (Construction of Foundations)

c.     Ionic (Building of the Constructs)

d.     Corinthian (Decoration and Edifice)

Sub-Nodes

VI.           Confusing the issue, but now more clear with the benefit of oversimplification, is the illusion of cohort or sub-nodes within generations.  These do not attribute a “rebirth” sub-period, for the natural[1] progeneration of each individual, cohort, or generation is the very act of biological rebirth.

Primary Technological Achievement

VII.         At the advent of every new generation, there appears a clear signal from the prior generation as to how to better evolve the technology of our environment for survival and progress.  Although these are simplifications of the overarching achievement of the times, there are innumerable simultaneous progresses in every subject matter in order to allow for other generations to unlock achievements.  As with Node Zero, we find ourselves (at “node 8”) where the cumulative progress in every Scientific endeavor has come to fruition in every discipline—the start of a time of Science and Reason!

Longevity Asymmetry

VIII.       By Node Six, The Baby Boom Generation, Children were observing the first human cohorts to live into their 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s, in spite of the two great mechanical wars.  We entered into a node in 1999 where children being born until 2029 will observe human cohorts living into their 90’s, 100’s, and beyond (the estimated stabilization for longevity to become living naturally into 120 ~ 140 y.o., and with medicines and technologies 140+)!

Conclusion

The Population Asymmetry, Progenitor Asymmetry and the Longevity Asymmetry require from the intergenerational populace a sense of civility and abiding peace that are necessary for collective security.  We enter an era of unprecedented potentiality for every human being alive today, and have one of the best chances ever to enshrine Ethics, Liberty and Human Rights for the sanctity of all future generations.

Hypothesis

We will not be able to afford to not cooperate as a human species (as opposed to nation, or other group) upon this Earth, and the upside becomes material and quality of life gains from cooperation that will far outweigh perceived negatives.

The confluence of all these human events shall describe

1.     A grander sense of the Collective Consciousness and Higher Awareness

2.     More sublime and civil forms of diplomacy and warfare

3.     A concept of collective endeavor that will produce a massive efficiency, which we are already encountering

Interim Report Card: Obama and Congress

I have been focusing my energy on more positive things since I last blogged (a philosophical countenance upon monetary issues, since then a devaluation of the dollar, and a credit downgrade for the USA).

Many of the negative things we citizens have been enduring are in part due to congressional incompetence!


D for CONGRESS

1. Disappointing. Anyone who thought a fresh crop of outspoken freshmen would shift the paradygm should now see that (a) freshmen need to make small committee level type mistakes before getting to run with the big dogs, because the weak Speaker unable to whip the Teaparty group specifically has been a joke; (b) sometimes our system allows legitimate "tails," or minority views, to wag the dog of the center; yet (c) our system is about compromise, and the center has won out in most of the debates. The absurdity of the House of Representatives has been amateur hour.

2. Disrespect. Yes, the Pubs are the "party of No," actively defending their point of view and loudly hoping for the CEO of the USA to fail... except We The People are represented by all branches of government-- that throughputs into hoping against the USA itself, and seems highly disrespectful no matter how rosy the economy. So these red herrings and ad hominems look to be much fiddling whilst Rome Burns! What ever happened to respect for the office of the President?

3. Delay, Distract, and Derail. Between both parties the lack of civil dialogue has led to endless tactical maneuvers that have ultimately kept the American people riding in the rumble seat, while we watch some falsetto reality show about idiots sent somewhere to compromise and lead, but instead doing everything except what has been needed-- and so much needs doing!

4. Democrat. The Dems have been playing chicken, too. What ever happened to civil discourse? Both sides show they dont know how to get things done with fact, consensus, and logic. Keynesian theory, like climate change, is scientifically verifiable, so why do Dems somehow have a big issue explaining that massive cuts at the heart of a recovery will ensure a new downturn in economic activity. What small and large businesses and investors REALLY await is ANY final say on tax codes, securities regulation, and others of the many chickens that came home to roost in 2006 ~ 2008 (under the Bush Administration) still clucking along with us. Not too many care who is to blame, but await the issues to be addressed, solved, and a long term track set up so calculations can be made. We want chicken salad and have been served a lot of chicken $#!+. The whipsaw markets and the inconstant congress have made planning as much of a hunch as a calculation, and this is not right to do to potential employers during the worst job crisis since Ronald Reagan!


C-flat for Obama.

We are really seeing a tin ear on many things, particularly juxtaposed against the congressional reality from the President.

He has fallen flat on many issues that his populist core group, of which I count myself as formerly one, would have imagined his administration could have tackled in his sleep.

1. Habeas Corpus. To me this is the only issue of the 2012 election if this doesnt get handled, very soon. Don't get me wrong, I am sure there are some very bad people out there trying to do very bad things to the USA,, but at what cost are we willing to proceed? Still unsettled is the rejection of the initial human rights of the landholder found in the Magna Carta, enshrined by our civilization, and repealed under the harsh justice of Bush the Lesser. Yet Obama three years in unwilling to re-establish ancient Rule of Law?? Straight up F on this one.

2. Tax. Dear Mr. President, under similar constraints, your hero, Reagan, also raised taxes. What economist is telling you to not generate revenues by simplifying government, tax codes, and regulations-- a net tax increase? Maybe Geithner is the least of our worries, but there is not really a debate amongst scholars as to what is needed stimulatively by the Buyer and Seller of last resort. You are trying to run the largest economy without proper income. Would any millionaire or billionaire also seek to run an operation with expenses exceeding income? No, they would pass the cost on. D+ on economy.

3. Negotiating. Before I consider voting for you again, I need you to show me that you wouldn't be hustled by a car dealer. In the real world, you see, people close deals all day long. I guess its a lawyers in Washington DC thing to expect that you acceed to the oppositions positions before they show willingness to engage in earnest horse trading. Practice by playing poker with your staff or something, because this is getting embarrassing to watch. Then the endless tactical back and forth. Next time, print out your hard and fast deal points and let congress work around you -- not the other way around! Congress is only popular to the tune of their family and friends networks now, so why would you let them have the first or last word ever again? D- on negotiation.

4. Everything else. Obama has been remarkably productive in the first couple of years, but it seems has been caught flat footed. His administration has gotten many remarkable things accomplished while fighting two wars they didnt start. I remember watching Nixon flying away from the White House lawn on TV when I was three, so I have no short term memory issues to somehow imagine that much of our problems stem from the horrible administrative decisions by the prior CEO.

Yet, I tried to bite my tongue about Bush, because I knew (a) he was only a person, (b) tens of thousands of others worked around him to create the millions of bad choices, least of which was Cheney, and (c) barring the previous administrations refusal to leave office without a coup, we are Americans, and even the quasi-fascist neo-cons left when the People spoke. So, yes, comparatively Obama has been a fresh start, but now we are into the quagmired reality of hard choices--regardless of who started what (My argument is that it's Nixons fault for taking us off the Silver Standard, but who cares, right? How will that argument get anything accomplished today??).

I give Obama a B- drifting into a C+ were it not for the key issues above, to combine for a very flat C-.

I can only pray we are restored our rights, and that the people who will be going back to Washington DC in the fall decide to take seriously the multitude of issues that have befallen the American peoples-- for surely this wont do!

Hague Gaddafi

What we are witnessing in the Mid-East today is full of hope and promise, yet signals the beginning of a long road for each of these societies filled with peril and danger.

To that end we begin to see the result of a dictator of convenience to oil consuming nations, thoroughly ensconced in the best soldiers, weapons, and hiding places in his capitol city bitterly beginning his attempt at counter-revolution-- like that picture of the little fish trying to eat the big fish! Except, the big fish is turning around to swim at them and say, "I'm gonna git you sukka!"

Dont worry little fish, stay true to your purpose, and next thing you know the big fish is back to where he once was... moments away from being eaten-- just the opposite direction.

We are witnessing the promise of the world wide web truly materializing-- democratization through information.

In the Reagan era, they called this The Information Age. A bit overstated, but undeniable, too.

When they made the Internet something that anyone, who happened to have a computer, residence, phone line, and subscription, could access we heard of all the exciting potentials.

In this day and age of the $100 computer, multi-function hand held devices with wireless internet access, and the general saturation of technology over time the other shoe has begun it's foot fall.

So, this simple suggestion to the West in general and USA in specific from your humble observer:

This is the opportunity in clearest daylight for the USA and Obama Administration to back the Court of International Justice in Hague, it's processes, and all that it represents for the future of International Justice.

Obviously, events must play themselves out, but when Gaddafi is captured or escapes to his island hideaway, ala Dr. No from James Bond, we Americans must agree that The Hague Court was set up to deal with dictators actively killing their citizens in popular revolt. Where else should we have him tried as a consistent War Criminal and human rights abuser?

That move would continue the momentum we see for transparency, democracy, and set the model for future dictators subject to popular rejection. It would also reverse yet another backward Bush-era policy.

The Golden Fleece-down

Comcast won approval. Okay, but (and I haven't read the resrictions) should we not limit this transaction from a perspective of the possession or easement of telecommunicative ("two-way") devices in places of private residence or commerce in conjunction with the Potential of an implied warrant* the real issue: data mining, data collection, financial data sharing; etc.

*The former issue was similar to the subsidized railways of the 19th century, and now that much of the hard infrastructure is "owned," this implied or real monopoly on a market-by-market basis, in conjunction with certain content monopoly issues (channel restrictions, access limitations, and slower speeds for content not preferred) all imply that this will be bad for consumers.

This is a merger of Producer and Distributor to attempt to break this deal down into the simplest terms, and they have the customers "clicks" right in their hand.

I have Comcast Service, and it isn't as good as all that. Technical issues quite frequently, and local outages. That said, ATT U-Verse had major outages right over the holidays (as many are well aware) nation wide.

I would like to see better consumer protections... my bill has only gone up, and not just as a direct function of inflation.

How does this benefit consumers directly?

My Personal 3rd Memorial Project

As most of my friends already know, my stepbrother passed away three years ago from Prostate Cancer. He was 36, and first met him when he wasn't yet three years old as my Mom and his Dad (now my Father, for all intents and purposes) were dating.

As his barely older stepbrother, I watched and witnessed much of his life half-lived, if ever fully and with a special connexion to the Earth, and how that ended with the tragedy of profound illness.

A genuine humanitarian, he was more often than not something of a defiant optimist, or at least pleasant pessimist. He was always learning and growing as his comprehension and measure of the world expanded. And all, to whom I have talked to since his passing, who may have only merely even met him, remember the strong impression he left – most would say he was a purposeful and friendly person.

As tragic as the whole saga was, there is still a lot we can do for people here and now.

In a blog before the elections, I began training for a 10K and started to raise funds for a Memorial Race in honor of my stepbrother.

But that was postponed until somewhere into Spring of 2011, and last I heard they may turn it into some other type of event (like rock climbing)?

So, as part of my goal setting exercises for 2011, I found a solution that allows me to continue the physical training I need to work on for my short, mid, and long-term goals, and continues to raise funds and awareness for ZERO and all the good work they are doing to combat Prostate Cancer.

Here it is:

I have, as I write this, on the third anniversary of my stepbrother’s passing, the goal of raising another $240 by year's end, and that would make an even $500 for this year; then I would like to try and raise another $2000 through to April 2nd, 2011, when I plan on running (either a 10K or half-marathon) trail race; and finally my tentative goal is to be fit enough to run a trail marathon for mid-September – and complete this fund-raising project for ZERO by raising a final $2500 – a Total of $5000 in one year!

I know with your help I can do it, but for me the important thing was to find an activity (trail running) that I am enjoying and make goals that met those needs, too.

I then have the privilege to know my getting healthy has not only purpose, but that everyone who has already chipped (and who will chip) in is part of my Team!

If I was right about that fun fact about the economy four years ago, then trust me when I say, HEMP is right for the Economy Today!

There have been no new actual arguments brought up by the opposition since my last Post, or Original Argument from 1993~4. Mostly we have seen the same old tired out retread Arguments of "Fear," and to much lesser extent "Greed," because actually YES wins the conversation about jobs, taxes, and the economy.

The fearful bits about elections, is one of the key reasons why I am actually sick of our political system. Washington was as Cincinnatus a citizen - soldier - then politician - then citizen, and the (low) level of discourse in our modern politics disenfranchises ordinary citizens.

So, Fear is something, but the reason we are given privacy to punch our ballot is that the vote must not be made under duress. That category then is hard to define once we take impersonal effects from the citizen... does not the economy itself pose a certain duress upon the perceptions of voters today?

Thus, even though there are legitimate problems in our economy, government, and state budgets, we must look past fear and ask simply, "Will this Proposal (proposition 19) actually help?" Make a positive impact on my life and the future of our State and Economy!

With an estimated $1.8BB in savings by redirection of Peace Officer efforts and incarceration, this can certainly be redistributed at a savings to governments, and then more than make up any potential slack posed by people doing more or less what they are already doing (and government make fewer or no taxes from it).

With an estimated $1.4BB in revenues to state and local governments, this is a real solution for today's issues-- INCLUDING JOBS!

I am glad, although unaffiliated with, have often voted Libertarian, as well as other third parties, that the Libertarians recognized and endorsed Prop 19, without waiver or condition.

This will get the beginning of the end of a failed Prohibition and a failed social "drug" war mentality.
